Oslo Break Fest

Oslo Break Fest is a group of artists, producers, organizers and music lovers dedicated to the proliferation of breakbeat based music in and around Oslo. We've been putting on club nights and special one-off events for the past 3 years including nights at Blå, The Villa, Sikamikanico, Garage, and Pi as well as a regular monthly night called The Breakfest Club at Revolver. We promote all kinds of break based and electronic music from Breakcore to Dubstep, From Gabba to Ambient, from IDM to Techno.

The concept was begun with the very first Oslo Break Fest (the event from which lends its name to our outfit) at Spasibar in June 2007 - featuring artists of note such as Bong Ra, Judith Priest, Ars Dada and Death Machine . Over the last 3 years we have put on events with artists such as Venetian Snares, Shitmat, DJ Scotch Egg, Rotator, Broken Note and Gromov - adding considerably to the diversity of showcased talent in Oslo, and bringing artists and genres unheard or rarely heard in Norway.

As well as showcasing international talent, we have put Norwegian artists up alongside. This has encouraged the emergance of a homegrown Norwegian breakbeat scene with artists such as Gradlab, Fluxrotator, Ars Dada, Shaving Ronalds Car, Alex Usual, DJ Tech, DJ Woo, Automat Piss Tool and Kamerat Tord being regular contributors.
